Eldara What Rebirth Keeps and Wipes

Pets stay. Echoes do not. Refine the set you will still wear.

Rebirth Reset Planner

Rebirth is Eldara’s prestige button, not a new game plus with a party. You reset character progress to stack long-horizon power. Version 1.0 still uses the keep/reset split that Early Access taught in August: Codex, collections, achievements, and pets persist; Eternal Forge Echoes and Forge upgrades do not; equipped combat gear gains about +5 refinement per cycle toward a cap near +50. This planner is the checklist you read before you confirm. Narrative and flavour live on what survives a rebirth. Tables for skill order live on the skill training planner. Both paper tools sit on the planners hub.

If you only came here because the Forge said you could prestige, slow down. Echoes are a cycle currency. Sixty-four ranks unlock a crate exchange at 5,000,000 Echoes each. Prestiging one night before a crate is how you donate millions to the void.

Pets include the named landmarks — Steelfang, Sharpeye, Whisper, Sprout — and the rest of the seventeen. Because they persist, a mastery that is hours away is a reason to delay rebirth. Rank whether that pet is even worth the delay on pet rankings by domain. Unlock rules sit on the skill pets roster.

Refinement sits on the gear you are wearing when you prestige. It is the mechanical reason to main one style. If you rebirth in melee and then idle magic for a month, you spent a cycle on a spear you are not parking. Loadout discipline: melee, range, and magic builds.

Eternal Forge ranks and crates

The Forge is a rebirth-cycle minigame that Patch 24 added on 15 August 2026 and that 1.0 kept. You generate Echoes by striking, by Heat, by Golden Echoes, and by passive generation (with a portion offline via Memory Crucible). Higher rebirth levels multiply Echo income, which is why cycle two rebuilds faster than cycle one even though the upgrades reset.

Sixty-four ranks is the completion line for the Forge tree. After that, Patch 25’s Echo Exchange (25 August 2026) lets you buy random crates at 5,000,000 Echoes each, with equal chances at Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Void, in batches of 1, 3, 5, or 10. History and wording live on the Early Access recap. The planner fact is: if you are close to a crate dump, rebirth is probably the wrong button tonight.

Ask, in this order:

  1. Is a pet mastery hours away? Wait.
  2. Is a crate dump (or a 64th rank) hours away? Wait.
  3. Is the gear on your body the set you will idle after prestige? If no, swap first, then prestige.
  4. Is the next +5 refinement going to change a hunt you actually run? If no, keep farming Echoes or skills.
  5. Are you on hardcore? Then also ask whether the post-rebirth gear is still safe. One life, half XP, half gold.

When to rebirth

Rebirth when the equipped set is the set you believe in, the close pets are home, the Forge is at a clean stopping point (empty wallet or a crate you already bought), and the next +5 is more exciting than another night of Echoes.

Do not rebirth when you are mid-rank on Living Ember, sitting on 4.8 million Echoes, one Woodcutting level from a pet, or wearing last week’s experiment spear because it “has a drop.” Do not rebirth to fix a house reputation problem. Ashen Legion, Verdant Circle, and Gilded Hammer remember donations on this save; prestige is not a reputation wipe. See three faction houses.

Do not rebirth to reroll a 0.03% cape. Collections persist. The Abyssal Hornfiend will still be stingy after you prestige, and you will have thrown away Echoes for the privilege. Cape notes: world bosses.

A one-screen checklist

Copy this. Tick it. Then press the button, or don’t.

  • Firemaking is in a place you can rebuild without crying (accelerator still exists as a skill you understand).
  • Cooking can feed the first post-rebirth hunts.
  • Close skill pets claimed.
  • Codex unique items not sitting in a donation window.
  • Equipped melee, range, or magic set is the one you will park.
  • Forge: either cashed out crates or consciously sacrificed remaining Echoes.
  • You know Echoes go to zero and pets do not.
  • Hardcore: food and Defence still honest.
  • You have a first idle block ready (usually Firemaking or its logs).

After rebirth, do not sprint three combat styles to “test refinement.” Park the set you just plus’d. Relight fires. Rebuild Hammer / Ember / Crucible only as fast as the new Echo multiplier allows. Skill order goes back to the early table on the skill planner even if your Codex looks like an endgame museum.

Steam Cloud should already be on. Sixty-eight achievements persist, including the ones that made you want to prestige. 1.0 launched on 2 September 2026; this checklist is for that live game, not for a hypothetical EA wipe. Launch context: version 1.0.

Rebirth when the next +5 refinement matters more than the Forge ranks you will throw away. If a crate is one night of Echoes away, wait; if your gear is stuck at a plateau, prestige.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What do I keep when I rebirth?

Codex, collections, achievements, and pets, plus about +5 refinement on equipped combat gear toward a cap near +50. Eternal Forge Echoes and Forge upgrades reset.

Should I finish 64 Forge ranks before prestiging?

If the Random Crate Exchange is the reason you opened the Forge, yes — or at least cash the Echoes you already earned at 5,000,000 each. If the next +5 on a finished set is the real goal, you can sacrifice a mid-rank wallet on purpose.

Do houses reset on rebirth?

Do not treat prestige as a reputation wipe. Donate surplus before or after on purpose. Rival cuts still matter; read the faction houses.

Can I rebirth to get another roll at the Abyssal Cape?

Collections persist, so you are not resetting the log. You are resetting Echoes. Chase the 0.03% drop when the melee set is ready, not as a prestige reroll.

Where do I learn the Forge's origin?

Patch 24 on 15 August 2026, with crates in Patch 25 on 25 August 2026, both during Early Access. Timeline on the Early Access history page.
