How to use this Eldara hub

Eldara: The Forgotten Realm is a released dark-fantasy idle RPG on Steam (app 4746070). Version 1.0 shipped on 2 September 2026 after Early Access opened on 15 June 2026. You play alone: one character, seventeen skills, three joinable houses, and a Codex that remembers every item, monster, and secret you uncover. There is no multiplayer, no subscription, and no cash shop. Progress continues while the client is closed.

This hub is the map, not the novel. Each article below is written for a search intent — how to start, how the idle loop works, how combat is won, how the skill web feeds itself, how dungeons and mythic bosses are staged, how rebirth and the Eternal Forge actually pay out, and whether Hardcore is worth a grave. If you only open one page tonight, open the first-hour Eldara walkthrough. If you already have a pickaxe swinging, skip ahead to the system that is currently blocking you.

Do not confuse this game with Eldarya or the browser title Tales of Eldara. This wiki covers the Steam game from Eldara Games only.

First hours and the idle loop

New characters waste time by treating Eldara like an action RPG. It is not. You choose an activity, watch a few ticks to confirm food and inventory, then leave the window running or close it and trust offline progress. The idle-loop and client primer covers setting an action, Codex lookups, backpacks versus bank space, Steam Cloud, windowed versus fullscreen, and the real minimum spec (Windows 10, an older i3, 2 GB RAM, DirectX 11, about 500 MB on disk).

A sane first evening looks like this: mine or chop until a tool upgrade is in reach, cook anything that heals, then take a cheap melee or range fight only after auto-eat is stocked. Firemaking is not a flavor skill — it is a global experience accelerator for every other skill, so lighting a fire is part of onboarding, not a late unlock. When you are ready to spend that first gold and XP with a plan instead of a guess, open the skill-route planner.

Combat, skills, and the dungeon ladder

Combat is three styles and three matching gear sets: melee, range, and magic. Official monster examples still hold after 1.0 — skeletons resist melee, wraiths fear fire, dragons fall to arrows. Auto-eat and backpacks keep an idle fight alive while you are in another window. The melee-range-magic breakdown is the place for weaknesses, food, and why you should not tank a dungeon on the wrong style.

The seventeen skills are Melee, Range, Magic, Defence, Hitpoints, Mining, Smithing, Woodcutting, Fishing, Cooking, Fletching, Firemaking, Cultivating, Cremating, Crafting, Thieving, and Hunting. They are a living economy, not a list of isolated bars. Ore becomes plates, logs become arrows and heat, fish and crops become auto-eat food, bones become cremation products, hides become crafted kit. Read the full skill web before you dump a week into one gathering node. When you want a ranked view of what to push first, use the skill ranking board and the broader tier rankings hub.

Dungeons are multi-stage, not a single hit-point bar. The Sunken Crypt teaches you to pack food and swap styles mid-run. The throne of Ignarath is a lore climax as much as a loot check. Three mythic world bosses sit above that ladder, themed warrior, ranger, and mage. Prep them from the dungeon and boss walkthrough and the mythic boss dossiers.

Rebirth, Hardcore, houses, and 1.0

Rebirth is the long game. Some levels and tools reset; Codex progress, collections, achievements, and all seventeen pets stay. Each rebirth adds +5 refinement to equipped combat gear, stacking toward a cap around +50. Echoes, Heat, and Golden Echoes feed the Eternal Forge — Resonant Hammer, Living Ember, Memory Crucible, sixty-four ranks, then a Random Crate Exchange at five million Echoes per crate. Echoes themselves reset; higher rebirth raises the Echo multiplier. Plan the prestige with the rebirth and Forge guide and the prestige calculator.

Hardcore is a separate promise: one life, half gold, half XP, and a permanent grave on the leaderboard if the run dies. It is not a difficulty slider you flip for extra loot. Read the one-life Hardcore rules before you roll that save.

Houses are the political layer. You can join the Ashen Legion (combat and hunting), the Verdant Circle (woodcutting, fishing, firemaking, fletching, cultivating), or the Gilded Hammer (smithing, crafting, and the gold loop). Donating to one can lower standing with the others. The Cult of Ignarath, the Wanderers, the Mages’ Conclave, and the Merchant Guild exist in lore — they are not the three joinable houses. Start with the house reputation primer and the wider companions hub. Pets such as Steelfang, Sharpeye, Whisper, and Sprout are covered in the pet bonus list and ranked on the pet value board.

Hunting, gold, and the Codex

The board that prints early coin is hunting contracts. Accept a pack, kill it, turn it in. The gold and economy guide is where contracts meet vendors, Gold Magnet, Thieving, and Gilded Hammer standing. The Codex and achievements page is the in-game log: items, monsters, secrets, and the sixty-eight Steam stamps that survive rebirth. Do not vendor the first rare because the bag was loud.

If you want a buyer’s take after 1.0 — Very Positive Steam reception on a little over two hundred reviews, honest notes on AI-curated art, Melvor Idle comparisons, and the lack of microtransactions — read the post-1.0 Eldara review. Patch context lives on the update log hub, with the version 1.0 patch notes and the Early Access recap. Official store, site, and Discord sit on the official links page. Loadout ideas after you have a house and a pet are on the build ranking page and the extra wiki tools desk.

A realm that still has a spine

Long before the Sundering, Eldara was a kingdom of seven spires. You arrive centuries late. The ruins, the Cult, and the things that broke the old roads are still here. This hub will not recap every whispered subplot — the in-game Codex does that better — but it will keep the mechanical truth in one place so you do not rebirth with the wrong hammer, walk into Ignarath on melee against the wrong roster, or ignore Firemaking for a month. Bookmark the article that matches the wall in front of you, then come back when the next system unlocks. The Forgotten Realm is patient. Your Echo multiplier does not have to be.
