Eldara Codex, Collections, and Achievements
The in-game wiki: items, monsters, secrets, and the 68 Steam stamps that survive rebirth.
The Codex is the game’s own wiki
Eldara ships a Codex that tracks items, monsters, and secrets as you discover them. It is searchable. On the 1.0 client the search bar sits at the top of the Codex window (Ctrl+K on the screenshot build) and filters by rarity and category. This fan wiki will not replace it. This page tells you why to open it, which Steam achievements sit next to it, and what survives a rebirth so you do not prestige in the middle of a collection you cared about.
Version 1.0 launched on 2 September 2026 with sixty-eight Steam achievements. The Codex and the Collection Log are in-game. Steam’s overlay is the stamp album. All three persist through rebirth, along with pets. Eternal Forge Echoes do not. That split is the whole reason this page exists beside the rebirth guide and the companion roster.
A live Codex snapshot from the store screenshots showed hundreds of items across weapons, armour, jewelry, ammunition, tools, ores, logs, fish, bones, materials, and seeds. Rarity tags run Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Apex, and Mythic Void. Those labels are the game’s, not this wiki’s invention. If a later patch adds a tier, the panel wins.
How to use the Codex during an idle
When a new name drops, open the Codex before you vendor it. Collection-complete marks expanded in Patch 25 (25 August 2026) onto more resource, monster, and dungeon cards. Selling the first copy of a rare because the bag was loud is how collection logs stay empty. Bank first. Sell the tenth. The gold guide is the vendor page; this page is the “have I logged this” page.
Monster entries teach weaknesses the same way the combat guide does, except the Codex only fills what you have actually fought. Skeletons resisting melee, wraiths fearing fire, and dragons falling to arrows are the official teaching examples. The rest of the bestiary is earned. Do not take a mythic into Hardcore because a fan list said the colour matched your cape. Hardcore is one life. The Hardcore rules are the mode.
Secrets and subplots — traveling merchants, town criers, Harvest Festival windows — also leave fingerprints here. A festival that offers +20% all XP is an XP event, not a Codex skip. Light Firemaking first. Then open the Codex if a whispered NPC dropped a name you cannot spell.
Steam achievements you can actually name
Steam highlights include First Blood, Rock Breaker, Gone Fishing, Timber!, Chef Apprentice, Bone Collector, Goblin Smasher, Short Order Cook, First Spark, and Five Finger Discount. Those names map onto the first hours of combat, mining, fishing, woodcutting, cooking, bones, goblins, cooking again, Firemaking, and Thieving. They are onboarding stamps, not endgame gates.
Hunting has its own contract-shaped milestones. A June 2026 starter video treated 200 hunting contracts as an early gold-and-gear achievement. Confirm the live overlay. If the threshold moved after 1.0, the overlay wins. The loop itself is documented on hunting contracts.
Patch 24 cut the Legendary Slayer monster-kill requirement from 50,000 to 25,000. That is an official EA change that shipped into 1.0. Do not grind 50,000 because an old screenshot said so. Do not skip Firemaking to rush a kill count either. The skill planner still starts with fires.
Achievements persist through rebirth. That makes them a poor reason to delay a prestige and a good reason not to panic if a stamp is still grey. Pets and Codex entries are the same family. Echoes are not. The rebirth planner is the keep-versus-reset list.
Collections, pets, and the cape lottery
The seventeen skill pets are a collection. Official art names Steelfang, Sharpeye, Whisper, Stoneshell, Heartbeat, Pebble, Barkback, Bubbly, Cinderclaw, Nibbles, Emberpaw, Ashen, Gemgrub, Pinchpaws, Tracker, Quillfeather, and Sprout. Each is a mastery, then a permanent bonus. The pets page is the roster. This page is the reminder that those unlocks are Codex-adjacent and rebirth-safe.
The Abyssal Cape is not a pet. It is a legendary melee back drop from the Abyssal Hornfiend at 0.03%, added in Patch 25 and wired into Collection Log, Codex, drop tables, and rebirth tracking. That is a lottery hunt, not a collection you finish on a Tuesday. Boss context lives on world bosses.
Houses do not stamp the Codex for you. Ashen Legion, Verdant Circle, and Gilded Hammer change what you donate. They do not complete a monster card. Donate from surplus. Read the houses page before you spend a unique drop on standing.
A Codex habit that does not stall the idle
- After a new drop, open Codex, star it if you still need it, then bank or sell.
- After a new monster, read the card before you take a harder pack of the same family.
- After a festival or merchant, log the name, then go back to the parked skill.
- After a hunting contract, check whether an achievement threshold just moved.
- Before rebirth, skim collections you still care about. Echoes will reset. The log will not.
- Do not open the Codex instead of cooking. Auto-eat is still the combat UI. The getting started guide is the food page.
Official store, studio, and Discord remain the places to confirm a new achievement name. They are on the links hub. Patch dates for 1.0, Patch 24, and Patch 25 sit on the updates hub.
The Codex is the only wiki that ships inside the client. Use it when a name is new. Use this page when you need to know which stamps survive the prestige button.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does the Eldara Codex track?
How many Steam achievements are in 1.0?
Sixty-eight. Early names include First Blood, Timber!, First Spark, and Five Finger Discount. Hunting contract milestones are covered on the hunting guide.
Do I lose Codex progress when I rebirth?
No. Codex, collections, achievements, and pets stay. Eternal Forge Echoes reset. See the rebirth planner.
Did Legendary Slayer still need 50,000 kills?
No. Patch 24 reduced that achievement from 50,000 monster kills to 25,000. Confirm the live overlay if a later note changes it again.
Is the Abyssal Cape a Codex pet?
No. It is a legendary melee back drop at 0.03% from the Abyssal Hornfiend, tracked in Codex and Collection Log. Boss notes are on world bosses.
