Eldara Rebirth and Eternal Forge
What resets, what stays, +5 refinement, and how Echoes buy sixty-four Forge ranks.
Prestige with a packing list
Rebirth is Eldara’s long game. You pull a lever, some levels and tools fall away, and you start the climb again with a heavier shadow. It is not a full wipe. It is not a cosmetic title. It is a contract: you surrender speed now for refinement, Echo multipliers, and Eternal Forge ranks that survive the next reset in the ways that matter.
Version 1.0 expects you to rebirth more than once. It does not expect you to rebirth on day two in starter rags. If you are still unlocking auto-eat and a house, stay on the first-hour Eldara walkthrough. The idle-loop and client primer is the packing list for a closed client. If you want a calculator instead of prose, open the prestige calculator beside this page.
What resets and what you keep
Resets: a slice of skill levels, and tools that the prestige rules mark as throwaway. You will feel slow for a session. That is the point. The civilian loop — Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Firemaking — exists so the second climb is a known road.
Keeps: Codex entries, collections, achievements, and all seventeen pets. Steelfang, Sharpeye, Whisper, Sprout, and the rest of the pet roster continue granting their domain bonuses after the numbers drop. That is why pet hunting before a prestige is not sentimentality. A permanent Mining bonus on a fresh pick is real time saved. See the pet bonus list.
House standing is political capital. Do not assume a rebirth is a free reputation wash. Play as if Ashen Legion, Verdant Circle, and Gilded Hammer still remember your donations — because donating to one can already lower standing with the others during a single life. Confirm on the house reputation primer before you spend a fortune the night before a prestige.
Echoes reset on rebirth. That sentence is easy to skip and expensive to learn in the Forge. Spend Echoes down to a plan, or accept that a pile of unspent Echoes is a pile of unspent ranks. Higher rebirth count then raises the Echo multiplier on the next life, which is the real snowball.
+5 refinement on equipped combat gear
Each rebirth adds +5 refinement to the combat gear you are wearing when you pull the lever. The bonus stacks. It caps around +50, which is ten rebirths of disciplined stamping if you always prestige in a set you intend to keep using. Wear melee plates if melee is your dungeon style. Wear the bow kit if dragons are the plan. Wear rags and you stamp rags.
This is a combat system living inside a prestige button. The melee-range-magic breakdown explains why the set matters; this page explains when to click. Repair the kit. Socket whatever the current recipes allow. Then rebirth. Smithing and Crafting are the benches that make the stamp worth having, which is why Gilded Hammer players often prestige later than Legion hunters — they are waiting on a plate.
Hardcore complicates the math. A one-life save that dies is a grave, not a prestige. Do not treat Hardcore death as a rebirth. Read the one-life Hardcore rules if that save type is tempting.
Eternal Forge: Echoes, Heat, Golden Echoes
The Eternal Forge is the sink for a prestige life. Three currencies show up in conversation: Echoes, Heat, and Golden Echoes. Echoes are the rank-buyer and the crate-buyer. They reset when you rebirth, and they arrive faster as the rebirth multiplier climbs. Heat is the fire-side fuel — treat Firemaking and pyre work as Forge logistics, not as a disconnected campfire skill. Golden Echoes are the rarer cousin; spend them on the upgrades you are tired of farming, not on a panic click the night before a reset.
Three named implements sit on the Forge floor:
- Resonant Hammer — the metal-side tool. Smithing and plate-minded characters live here.
- Living Ember — the fire-side tool. Firemaking, Cremating, and anything that wants Heat lean here.
- Memory Crucible — the remember-side tool. Codex-minded, collection-minded, and long-run account upgrades lean here.
You do not need to max all three on the first prestige. You need to pick the implement that matches the cluster you actually play. Hammer without plates is theatre. Ember without logs is a cold grate. Crucible without a Codex habit is a trophy shelf.
Sixty-four ranks, action time, and the crate
The Forge offers sixty-four ranks. Climb them in the current life while Echoes still exist. Skill action-time upgrades live in this ladder: shaving time off a Mining tick or a Fletching action is how idle games pay you for attention you already spent. Rank toward the actions you idle most. A Thieving rank you never click is a souvenir.
After all ranks, the Random Crate Exchange opens as a sink. The price is 5,000,000 Echoes per crate. That number is a late-save conversation. If you cannot imagine holding five million Echoes, you are not in crate territory yet. Buy ranks. Buy action time. Buy the implement that matches your house. Then, when the rank list is complete and the multiplier is fat, crate.
Because Echoes reset, a crate-or-rank decision is always made against the rebirth timer. If a prestige is coming tomorrow, buy the permanent-feeling rank, not a crate you cannot afford. If the rank list is done and the life is long, crate. The prestige calculator is the place to test that timing without burning a live save.
A first-rebirth script
- Finish the pets for skills you actually train. They keep.
- Fill Codex holes you are close to. They keep.
- Cook, repair, and equip the combat set you want at +5.
- Spend Echoes on Forge ranks and action-time upgrades you will miss on the next climb.
- Leave Heat and Golden Echoes in the sinks that match Resonant Hammer, Living Ember, or Memory Crucible — not in a pile.
- Bank. Confirm backpacks are not holding the only copy of a unique.
- Rebirth. Do not immediately Hardcore the new life.
- On the fresh climb, light fires early. Firemaking still accelerates every skill, including the ones you just lost.
Dungeons can wait a session while tools catch up. The Sunken Crypt will still be wet tomorrow. Mythic warrior, ranger, and mage bosses will still be rude. Use the dungeon and boss walkthrough when the new pickaxe no longer feels like a spoon. Skill routing for the second climb belongs on the full skill web and the skill ranking board. Loadouts after a few stamps live on the build ranking page.
Patch notes that tweak prestige math belong on the update log hub and the version 1.0 patch notes. Early Access history is the Early Access recap. Broader navigation sits on the guides overview, the tier rankings hub, the companions hub, the wiki tools desk, the official links page, and the post-1.0 Eldara review if you are still deciding whether prestige is the long game you want.
Rebirth is how Eldara stays interesting after the first Codex rush. Stamp a real kit, spend the Echoes that would otherwise vanish, and let the pets you already earned do the second week’s work. The Forgotten Realm does not owe you a faster pickaxe. The Forge does — if you pay it before the lever drops.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What do I keep when I rebirth in Eldara?
Codex progress, collections, achievements, and all seventeen pets. Some skill levels and tools reset. Echoes also reset, so spend them before you pull the lever.
How does gear refinement work?
Each rebirth adds +5 refinement to equipped combat gear. It stacks toward a cap around +50. Wear the set you plan to keep using. Combat context is in the melee-range-magic breakdown.
What currencies does the Eternal Forge use?
Echoes, Heat, and Golden Echoes. Spend Echoes on up to sixty-four ranks and, after those ranks, on Random Crate Exchange crates at 5,000,000 Echoes each.
What are the Resonant Hammer, Living Ember, and Memory Crucible?
The Forge's three implements: metal-side, fire-side, and memory-side. Upgrade the one that matches how you actually play, not all three on the first prestige.
Should I rebirth before running dungeons?
Not required. Many players stamp a kit they already used in the Sunken Crypt. Route planning is on the dungeon and boss walkthrough and the prestige calculator.
